Dr Solmaz Bezyan graduated from the University of New South Wales Faculty of Medicine in 2004. Following this she obtained dual Australian fellowships in the fields of anaesthesia and psychiatry.

During her anaesthesia training at Westmead and St Vincent Hospitals she gained invaluable experience in providing anaesthesia for elective, emergency and trauma surgery.

Dr Bezyan is currently a visiting medical officer at Westmead and Hornsby Public Hospitals and is accredited at a number of private hospitals including The SAN, Westmead Private, Norwest Private, The Mater, Macquarie University Private Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

Her work is focused primarily in providing anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, oncological surgery, otorhinolaryngology and colorectal surgery. She has a special Interest in regional anaesthesia and post surgical pain management.

Dr Bezyan has been described as compassionate, kind and caring by her patients and colleagues alike.

She is an avid traveller and likes to spend her free time cooking Ottolenghi recipes with her husband and two cats.

My name is Dr Paul Dunkin and I look forward to being your Anaesthetist. I work with a group of highly trained, innovative, enthusiastic surgeons who embrace and use the latest medical technology. I will work closely with your surgeon to ensure you receive the best care possible.

I am a fully qualified medical specialist in the field of Anaesthesia. I completed my undergraduate studies and specialist training with scholarships from the Royal Australian Navy.

As your Anaesthetist, my sole responsibility is to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

It might be necessary to consult with you in person prior to your procedure to discuss what the anaesthetic will involve and to go over any concerns you might have. The Pre-Admission Clinic will make these arrangements if necessary. Otherwise, I will see you on the day of your procedure.

Hi, I’m Dr Paul Fien.

As your Anaesthetist, it’s my job to ensure your safe-keeping throughout your medical procedure.

I aim to provide the best care possible, so I work closely with your surgeon to understand your particular circumstances and needs. Together, we bring a high degree of expertise and experience to address the medical concerns that have been impacting your life.

When we meet, I’ll ask questions of you, which may relate to your current medical condition, your medical history, and sometimes your family’s medical history. Please raise any concerns you might have about your anaesthesia so that I can address them. Let me know about your experience once your procedure is complete.

I’m a fully qualified medical specialist in the field of Anaesthesia. After completing my medical degree, I undertook anaesthetic training at Concord, Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore Hospitals. Following my training I worked on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales for several years. I now work at various hospitals on the northern side of Sydney.

I’m a Dad of three young adults, and enjoy spending time in nature, including hiking and kayaking. I’ll be keen to understand more about you when we have the opportunity to meet.

Dr Jarrett Barker-Whittle studied medicine at the University of NSW.

He completed internship and resident years at St George Hospital and then began specialist training in Anaesthesia at Liverpool Hospital. This included rotations to St Vincent’s and Bankstown Hospitals, and The Children's Hospital at Randwick. He holds a fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and pursues a robust program of continuing medical education and professional improvement. Jarrett is actively involved in hospital committee work and has been the Director of Anaesthesia at Macquarie University Hospital. He is a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists.

Dr Barker-Whittle’s practice covers many areas of anaesthesia. His special interests involve General and Abdominal surgery, Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat surgery, Bariatric surgery, Plastic surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery and Head & Neck surgery. He also provides anaesthesia and epidural analgesia for labour and Caesarean section.

He currently holds accreditation at a range of hospitals across Sydney, including: Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Norwest Hospital and Sydney South West Hospital.

Outside of medicine and anaesthesia Jarrett enjoys sport, spending time with his family and experimenting with the latest developments in technology.

Rajesh Reddy is a Specialist Anaesthetist with public hospital appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Ryde Hospital and has private hospital affiliations at the Mater Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Private hospital.

Trained as an anaesthetist from the Canberra region anaesthetic training program, he further nurtured his special interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia by pursuing a fellowship at the Westmead Children’s Hospital. He has also completed the Perioperative Medicine Course from Monash university. His other special interests include anaesthesia for Upper gastrointestinal surgeries (oncology surgery of Oesophagus, Stomach, Liver & Pancreas & Bariatric weight loss surgeries), regional anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgeries and anaesthesia for spine and neurosurgical procedures.

Dr Tish Stefanutto is a Specialist Anaesthetist trained in London and San Francisco before coming to Sydney.

She has appointments at the Northern Beaches Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, The Mater Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital.

She has done a Liver transplant fellowship and a Burns and Plastics specialisation. She has an ongoing interest in education and has been the Chair of the Airway Special Interest Group for the Australian and NZ College of Anaesthetists. She has been the convenor for international airway meetings and the combined anaesthetic and orthopaedic COMA conference.

Her anaesthetic interests are Orthopaedics and regional anaesthesia, Urology, Spine , Plastic surgery especially breast cancer care, Obstetrics, Maxillo-Facial and GI surgery.

Her major interest in anaesthesia is Enhanced Recovery After Surgery( ERAS) which includes tailored anaesthetic management for the entire perioperative period.

My name is Dr Elizabeth Symons and I will be your Anaesthetist for your upcoming procedure. An anaesthetist is a specialist doctor, who has completed a medical degree at university followed by a period of hospital training specifically in anaesthesia, intensive care, emergency, pain and peri-operative medicine. Australian anaesthetists have access to world class training in anaesthesia, pain control, resuscitation, intensive care and managing medical emergencies.

I completed my medical degree at The University of Melbourne and completed my Anaesthetic training at St Vincents' Hospital in Sydney. Following this I undertook a general fellowship at Concord Repatriation General Hospital with interest in bariatric surgery. I currently have appointments as a Specialist Anaesthetist at Sydney Adventist Hospital, SAN day surgery, Macquarie University Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Liverpool Eye Surgery and Chatswood Private Hospital. In addition, I am a regular participant in the Maintenance of Professional Standards Program from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

As your anaesthetist, I will provide you with high quality, safe and effective anaesthesia during your surgery as well as minimise any pain or discomfort after surgery. Prior to your surgery, I will meet with you to ask you a number of questions to establish the state of your general health and to formulate an appropriate anaesthetic plan for you. At the same time, if you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of your anaesthetic, I will be happy to discuss them with you.

Dr Paul Whiting is a specialist Anaesthetist based in Sydney Australia.
Paul worked for a number of years as an Electrical Engineer. Looking for a more people oriented career, Paul completed an undergraduate medical degree at Newcastle University. While completing his Anaesthetic Specialist Training, he worked at variety of major and district hospitals, all the time based at Concord and Nepean Hospitals.

Dr Paul Whiting now works as a Visiting Medical Officer at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital, and is accredited at a number of other hospitals including The Mater Hospital, North Sydney, Macquarie University Private Hospital, North Ryde, Norwest Private Hospital, Bella Vista and the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga.

Dr Paul Whiting has an interesting in Post Graduate training of doctors and works regularly with undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. Dr Hannah Wong is a specialist anaesthetist who aims to empathise with each patient and deliver their anaesthesia in a safe and meticulous manner, tailored to the requirements of the individual.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (Honours) from the University of New South Wales in 2000. She trained in anaesthesia at Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals in Sydney, becoming a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2009. She has an interest in anaesthesia for urological, vascular, orthopaedic, ENT, gastrointestinal and obstetric procedures.

Outside the operating theatre, Dr Wong enjoys spending time with her young family and catching up with friends over a good cup of coffee.

Dr Tony Wong is a Specialist Anaesthetist based in Sydney, working across both public and private hospitals. He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2011 and undertook the majority of his Anaesthetic training at Liverpool Hospital and throughout South Western Sydney. He was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2022.

During his training and early specialist years, Dr Wong developed a particular interest in managing complex cases in high-pressure environments including trauma, obstetrics, and major abdominal surgery. His time at Liverpool Hospital, one of New South Wales' busiest and most diverse clinical settings, provided a strong foundation for delivering anaesthesia in both routine and unpredictable scenarios.
